About Me
Donnie Tudor serves as the Chief of Operations for the Covington Fire Department, overseeing the day-to-day operations of 58 fire personnel. He began his career with the department on August 24, 1998, starting as a firefighter. In 2004, he was promoted to Engineer, and after two years in that role, advanced to Fire Lieutenant on C Shift. His leadership journey continued in October 2013 when he was promoted to Fire Captain on B Shift, a position he held until July 2018 before moving into his current role.
Throughout his career, Chief Tudor has demonstrated a strong commitment to service and excellence. He has actively contributed to various teams and initiatives within the department, including the Dive Team, Honor Guard, Apparatus Committee, and Operations Committee. His dedication and leadership have been recognized with several departmental honors, including the Firefighter of the Year Award, the Award of Excellence in 2005, and the Fire Chief’s Leadership Award in 2014.
In addition to his operational responsibilities, Chief Tudor is continuing his professional development and is currently enrolled at West Georgia Technical College, where he is pursuing an Associate Degree in Fire Science Technology. His career reflects a deep commitment to public safety, team leadership, and continuous growth within the fire service
