Brian Thompson, Deputy Chief Fire Marshal

Brian Thompson joined the department in 2009 as a Firefighter. Throughout his career, he has advanced through the ranks, earning promotions to Sergeant, Lieutenant in the Fire Marshal's Office in 2020, Captain in 2022, and Deputy Chief Fire Marshal in 2026.

As Deputy Chief Fire Marshal, Chief Thompson is responsible for conducting fire investigations, performing annual and compliance inspections, reviewing construction plans for fire code compliance, and providing public fire and life safety education. He is a Georgia State Certified Fire Investigator, State Certified Fire Inspector, and State Certified Fire Safety Educator.

Chief Thompson and his wife, Sherry, have been married for 38 years. They have two children, four grandchildren, and reside in Madison, Georgia.
